What’s The Point?

Ceilidh Band

new contact no: 01759 372020

Unfortunately What’s the Point will not be able to take any future wedding or function bookings apart from the ones we are already committed to for 2011 (see latest news and diary page) due to Noel & Olga’s relocation to Yorkshire. We will however consider Festival bookings if we are offered them. Many thanks to everyone who has booked us and supported us and our Folk Clubs throughout the last six years, especially those who continued to support us during Olga’s spell of ill health.

Our final gig as WTP for this year will be the Saturday night ceilidh at Moira Furnace Folk Festival on August 20th so we would love to see lots of you there for what we hope will be a great night. A ‘Farewell Tour’ t-shirt will be available at the festivals we are playing this year and will include a free CD - or maybe you will get a free t-shirt if you buy the CD! Look out for reunions and re-incarnations as they are bound to happen! We will all be continuing to make music  in various guises and have already been approached about some Festivals in 2012 so the ‘Farewell Tour’ could last for several years! This website will remain open so you can still listen to the sound bites etc. or contact us if you would like to.

Some comments we have received this year...

Everybody I spoke to about the band thought that you had done a great job with the caller getting very good comments....I will be very happy to recommend you to any other Regiment requiring a similar band - all being well see you next year.’ (Sealed Knot)

... thank you for giving us such a great ceilidh.  the feedback we have had is that you were by far and away the best ceilidh band we have had.  You encouraged everyone to dance and all including the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  You will be definitely be hearing from us again.

Cheers,

John. (Doncaster Folk Festival)
